Hey, friends!
As I’ve been sharing with people about going to serve refugees in Phoenix, a question I get asked occasionally is how do refugees even get to the United States? That’s a great question, and recently I’ve come across a couple great articles from different refugee resettlement agencies. They nicely break down the process a refugee goes through to enter the U.S. and also explain the differences between refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, and migrants.
A Refugee's Journey To The U.S.
Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Immigrants, and Migrants
I hope these articles provide more insight into who refugees are and what their journey to the U.S. entails. As I’m learning more, I’m amazed at the perseverance refugees have as they seek refuge for themselves and their families. Please join me in praying that refugees hear about Jesus during their journeys and realize He is their ultimate refuge and security.
