Hi friends!
My name is Daisy and I am a graduate of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. I will be going to Croatia through One Collective to work with the Roma people for 2 years!
Missions has always been a big part of my life. I was blessed to grow up in a home where my Grandmother and Mom always emphasized the importance of international missions. My first experience with international missions was in 2014 on a week trip to Romania to work with the Roma (Gypsy) people. I initially went because I love travelling, and experiencing new things, but after going my eyes were opened to the need for the Gospel internationally, and a passion began to grow. The next year I went for two weeks, and absolutely loved it. The summer of 2017 I went for 2 months. It was an amazing experience and while I was living there I realized that this was the life that God wanted for me, long term. I prayed for a path and an answer to what I felt God had put in my heart. A friend led me to GoCorps, and GoCorps led me to Croatia. The ministry there is focused on the Roma people and seeks to help them break the cycle of poverty. They are an excluded and underserved people group and there is much work to be done. This ministry also reaches out to the Croatian people, seeking to show them the love of Jesus. I am beyond excited to go and partner with the team there!
