Isaiah 42:1-4
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will bring justice to the nations.
He will not shout or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”
Father, thank you that you do not grow faint or discouraged on the road to justice. Thank you that when I feel tired and worn down in ministry, You are still strong and constant. When I am tired, I trust in Your strength. When I am sad and discouraged, I trust in Your love and faithfulness. You have a plan, and You are always working, even when I can’t see it.
"This is what God the Lord says—
the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out,
who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:
'I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.'"
Thank you for calling me in righteousness, for holding my hand as I stumble. You give me breath and life. You are our Mighty Creator, and in You I can trust.
“I am the Lord; that is my name!
I will not yield my glory to another
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
I will not forsake them.
Father I trust You. I want my friends here to know You more than I have wanted anything in a long, long time. Guide the blind in a way they do not know, along unfamiliar paths and into the light of Your grace. Thank you that You promise to not forsake those who seek You.
Isaiah 43:1-2
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
May I never lose the wonder of this truth. You have called me by name; I am Yours. You have redeemed me, and I do not have to fear.
"Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.
I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth—
everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.”
How can it be that God Almighty could call me precious and honored in His sight? How could I be loved by a perfect, holy God? Thank you for always being with me. Thank you that I have been created for Your glory. I can hardly fathom that I can glorify You in my life… it is such an incredible honor and joy. You called me by name and created me to glorify You.
