This month has led to many transitions for our team and individually. First off we had a team member finish his two-year commitment and is now back in the States preparing to come back next year as a long-term member. There were a handful of tasks that needed to be reassigned to others to fulfill in his absence; including the Sunday school supervisor role, which was handed off to me.
Secondly, we had an honorary team member (she was not part of our org but she helped with the student ministry and is close with our whole team) head back to the States indefinitely. Thirdly, we have a local girl who we have gotten really close with and has helped with the student ministry as well plan to leave in August for Europe as part of a study abroad type thing. Both of these girls leaving will impact our student ministry at one of the colleges we work at. There will need to be some spots to fill to keep things running and will cause changes in the team dynamics.
Lastly, our team leader and his family will be on their furlough for five months starting in August. This will also cause some temporary shifts in team weekly functions (like meetings).
All these transitions make me think about past transitions (like coming here) that God has helped me through. And while transitions can be tough at times and may take time to get adjusted to God is always with us and will help lead us in the right direction if we pay attention and learn to listen. Transitions are a great growing opportunity to learn to lean on God and trust that He knows what is best.
