I will be heading to East Asia to work with orphans and University students. Going into my senior year of college I had no idea I would be doing anything like this. I was planning on going into a job in the computer science field and work on getting my teaching credential, but God had other plans for me.
At my school we have a program that helps connect us to an organization that sends missionaries out into the world in the unreached/least reached people groups. There I was able to learn about GoCorps and eventually found the team that I am on. When choosing a team it was most important for me to find the place I felt God was calling me to and I was passionate about what the team was doing. When I saw the title Caring for Orphans I immediately felt a tug towards it.
I have, since middle school, an immense passion for working with children. One of my favorite verses is Matthew 19:14 where Jesus says "Let the children come to me". It is exactly what I want to do. I want to be able to support children in their discovery of God. Overall though I want to be able to walk alongside people whether a child or an adult as they discover and grow in their faith.
