By the age of 26, I thought I would have had a car, an apartment, or a savings account towards a house; or even my independent lifestyle. However, I have none of that. I have something better. Day to day, I get to see the different things that God is doing around the world and in my own life. God has sent so many people my way, even in Chile, to encourage me and expose me to what He’s doing around the world!
I’m currently writing this blog in Penaflor, Chile (thank you Chase travel points) because of the relationships that I made in Mexico; which means, free housing! I went to Mexico because God opened the door to teach in Mexico. I never imagined myself in a different country, yet alone, living in a different country! If you’re new to my blog, I currently live in Mexico City. By saying yes to God, He has opened so many doors for me! I’ve been so blessed with my friends back in the states, my current friends in Mexico, and my new friends in Chile.
I have lived in Mexico City for a year now. I taught at IME, a small homeschool Christian school that currently has 17 students, (http://imemexico.weebly.com/) during the second semester of the last school year. I am still currently teaching at IME! I have had opportunities to lead professional development workshops for the other teachers who haven't had professional training in teaching. I am the only teacher who had their teaching credential at this school. It has been so amazing working with the teachers, parents, and students at this school. Yes, even at this school, I have my knucklehead students, but I love them!
I am a missionary in Mexico City. I’ve always wanted to become a teacher in California; however, God allowed me to teach, but not exactly in California. Being a missionary isn’t the easiest job in the world. I’ve gone through culture shock, lost more than 20 pounds (in an unhealthy way) because of street food and other stressors, and had to learn Spanish to survive! HOWEVER, i’ve been blessed with amazing Spanish teachers, a great missions team and leaders, a great community, and so much more! I have been so blessed this past year; however, I still need your help! I live off of support; meaning, people support me so that I can continue to work and serve in Mexico City.
