The month of August has come and gone. As church, ministry with my after school program, and language school have all resumed I am expectant to see all that the Lord has in store for this upcoming fall. The highlight of August was easily the time I got to spend getting to know around 30 Czech students at the English camp I got to teach.
The Czech Republic will always hold such a special place in my heart. I spent the week mostly teaching six specific students all kinds of travel terminology since the theme of our week was “Journeys.” The Lord gifted me with the best Czech helper I could have asked for, we’ll call him M. M came up with the best “ice-breaker” games, and has the strongest sense of empathy. I was constantly amazed by his awareness and ability to read the room and identify where the students were or what they needed. With the theme of camp being about our journeys, we spent the week sharing stories and testimonies of what God has brought us through and done in our lives. I enjoyed one-on-one moments with students throughout the week, getting to share different parts of my life, like how the Lord called me to Germany, moments when I heard speak to me, times when I felt hopeless and saw the Lord come through, and how God has shown me that His power truly is made perfect in our weakness. On the Sunday following camp, we got to see one of the students get baptized. During the church service, he shared his testimony of how the Lord has used that English camp over the past few years to capture his heart. Please pray with me that others will continue watering the seeds that were planted in the hearts of the students at camp, so that they may also come to know the love of Christ.
