Whew! In all honesty it's been a rough couple of months. Moving was HARD and exhausting. There was so much to do and so much to communicate with my housemates, with our landlord and with our movers. The harder I got the more I pushed and pushed. I knew I was getting close to being at the end of my rope, but my goal was to get me and my housemates to our new home. I thought "Once we are there it will all be okay, but until then I can't stop."
Well I found the end of my rope soon after our move. Getting there wasn't the only task, there was also a lot of settling in and fine tuning all the little details. Yet I was spent and had nothing left to keep myself going.
On one of the mornings I was feeling most burnt out I went on a walk along the coast. It was a rainy morning and the sea was wavy, but as I started along the coast something caught my eye ... it wasn't just waves out there, it was a school of dolphins! I had been wanting to see a dolphin since I moved yet I had almost forgotten how excited I would be to see ONE. Now I wasn't just watching one, I was watching a school of them swim through the sea!
Instantly my attitude changed and I felt a sense of joy and childlikeness again. In this moment I was overwhelmed by the gift God had just given me. Something as simple as seeing a dolphin reminded me how much my Father cares for me. He knows the desires of my heart and He waited for the perfect moment to give me such a good gift.
Such a gift didn't change my circumstances, but it sure reminded me who was with me through it all.
God really does speak to us through the little things, let's be careful not to miss His blessings each day!
