Last night I went to sleep thinking how thankful I am for the way God uses different brothers and sisters in Christ to challenge us in our faith. As I sat and chatted with a friend about the ministry I will be a part of he asked me, "What do you think God thinks about the people of this region of the world?" Such a simple yet powerful question and one I don't think I have actually given enough thought to. In going to proclaim to those who do not know the Lord who He is, how important it is for me to reflect on His heart for them!
As I spent time with the Lord he reminded me of a favorite passage of mine:
Isaiah 55:6-11 says "Seek the Lord while he may be found' call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are you ways my ways, decalres the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."
What a great reminder of the power and promise of God's Word in EVERY PLACE it is proclaimed!
