It's Hitting Me Hard

Posted on Monday, June 27, 2016

This past week truly hit me hard. Literally that is. After a long day I went to fall back on my pillow and hit my head on my dresser instead. Ouch! That hurt. I went to bed hoping to sleep off the ache. The next day I just didn't feel like me and the next day was the same story.  It was frustrating to not feel good. I was experiencing a minor concussion, but I just wanted to feel great so I could keep going. I hate it when I can't get done what I have already planned to do. Laying down and doing nothing is not my first choice. I thrive on the go, go, go mentality. I was upset because I felt as if I were getting behind in support raising and preparation. The stress of feeling "behind" certainly didn't help either.

It wasn't until my dad said "If all of this is stressing you out so much then maybe you need to evaluate your perspective." At first I let out my defensive, "No, I know wha proper perspective is" ... but he really was right. Systems and plans are great as they help us to get done what we need to accomplish, but plans are not what create the results. The One working within our systems is the One truly doing the work. The great thing about it too is that even when our systems get messed up, He is still working and accomplishing just as much, if not more! He uses our out of control systems to remind us He is in control.

I am grateful for this reminder. The go, go, go mentaility only gets me so far until I crash and burn, but the trust, have faith and recognize Him as Lord mentaility is when I really start seeing His hand at work. He is my sustainer, my provider and my healer. He has been faithful each week regardless of the circumstances. Praise Him for His presence in my life and never ceasing to amaze me even when my mind is full of foolish thoughts and worries!
