two to go!

Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2016

My support raising season is coming to a close!! I am so excited to be done support raising, though I will miss meeting with people to tell them what I am passionate about. These last few weeks have been crazy! I had to be at 75% of my monthly total by last friday (9/23). By the end of the day God had provided 80% of my support! He is soo good! I have two(ish) weeks now before I leave for training in North Carolina. In the next two weeks I will have to make it to 90%. I am not worried though, throughout this season God had constantly shown up time and time again, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I am on the path He has shown me for this period of my life.

I'll be leaving for training October 9, and its really starting to hit me. I have two weeks to go! In these two weeks I need to finish support raising, pack and say goodbye to most my friends. I will be a training for 7 weeks; which will end right before Thanksgiving. Then I will come home for Thanksgiving, and the next Sunday (November 27) I'll be off to England!! Thats alittle under 9 weeks!! it feels like just yesterday I began my journey through GoCorps, and now I am finishing up to leave. This journey already has been exhausting, hard, challenging, and amazing all in one. One of the biggest things I have learned through this support raising season is that where God guides, he provides. I have learned what trusting God really means, and that God doesn't always provide when we think he will. If he gave me all my funds weeks before I needed to be done, there would be no need for trust, and I wouldn't have learned what that really looks like. Trusting God is not an easy thing to do, but it is an important thing to do. Its really easy to say you trust someone until the time comes for that to be tested.

I have also been learning the value of community in this season. Support raising is tiring, but having a community of people helping me, praying for me, and continually encouraging me and pointing me back to God has been a huge blessing. Some days I didn't want to get up, and that day a friend would send me a bible verse which was exactly what I needed to encourage me to move forward. Most of all, through this season I have began to better understand the undescribable amount of love God has for me. He has provided in ways that amaze me, and through people and situations I never would have imagined. Also, how he uses people and how I have seen him work through this time has been incredible. I have loved watching God work, but I am very excited for the next chapter where I will be at training, and further equiping myself before moving to England. So I ask for continued prayers as I have two weeks to go!
