So I guess now that I've told you all about my support raising, I should explain where I'm going...and what I'll be doing.
In less than two weeks, I will be moving to North Africa. My team leaders there own a language and culture business. I will be joining them to teach English in their afterschool program for local kids. I will also be learning the local dialect of Arabic through this business. I am really excited about both of these opportunities and the relationships that I will develop through them.
In addition to the couple that's there (and their kids), I will also have another teammate who will be arriving a few weeks after me. I am very excited to have her joining me. We will be living together, learning language together, doing ministry together, and supporting each other as we adjust to a new culture.
It has been so amazing to hear how our Father is already at work in North Africa. He is drawing people to Himself. I am so excited to be able to join in on what He is already doing there.
Please be praying for me as I go. A few requests for the next month:
- Quality time with family before I leave
- Safe travel
- That I'll keep my focus on the Lord
- Protection from spiritual warfare
- A great adjustment to the culture
- Quick language learning...and lots of motivation to do so ;)
By the way, you may have noticed that this is Georgia's blog. No, you're not in the wrong place. For security reasons, I get to go by Georgia now...at least for this blog. Don't worry...you don't have to start calling me Georgia. ;)
