So much has happened in the past week and a half. I've traveled further north in the US than I ever had before, I've made so many new friends, I've learned a ton of information about what I'll be doing overseas, I've absorbed valuable information about support raising appointments, and I've witnessed God confirm His calling for me over and over. I am completely blown away by His love for me and His excitement about what I'm stepping into, and He's pouring that excitement into me.
I went from training with my sending organization straight to GoWeek, and I wasn't sure how I would handle all of that. There has been a lot of information to process, and I haven't gotten as much sleep as I probably need, but these long days of sitting in sessions and getting to know so many new people have actually been pretty life-giving. I started out stressed over all of this, but Jesus has used everything in these trainings for good. Through my sending org training, He built up my passion for the work I'll be doing. I cannot wait to get over to the UK and start building relationships with Muslim immigrants in the community! The Lord has also worked through my new friendships to encourage me and allow me to encourage others. I got to meet the other Goers I'll be joining overseas, and we became such fast friends. I've met plenty of people who will be in other countries around the world, so now we'll all have friends all over the globe. Really, there are so many cool things that have happened during the last several days!
The thing I was least looking forward to in this whole process has been support raising. I know it's necessary, but man is it uncomfortable. After these days at GoWeek, however, I have actually gotten excited about stepping into this adventure. Going overseas isn't when my ministry starts; I get to start ministry work with support raising. I get to invite others into what God is doing across the ocean. Even though my potential partners are staying here in the states, they are still part of the adventure of building the Kingdom through prayer and financial giving. Y'all get ready! Jesus is about to do some awesome things that we get to see!
