Hello readers! My name is Christopher and I am a newly-minted Goer who will be serving in the campus ministry track in Asia. This week has been a very exciting time of challenge, preparation and community as the 2016 Goer class learns the ins and outs of fundraising and prepares to take the next step in our spiritual journeys.
Fundraising at this level is going to be a massive challenge, especially in the short window of time that we have before our launch dates. I'm feeling like Owen Wilson from Armageddon right now: "Great, I got that 'excited/scared' feeling. Like 98% excited, 2% scared. Or maybe it's more - It could be two - it could be 98% scared, 2% excited but that's what makes it so intense, it's so - confused. I can't really figure it out." - It's definitely scary to think about all of the work and appointments and organization that is going to be involved in reaching my number in only two months, but's it's an energizing, motivating kind of scary. I think that this morning I really absorbed for the first time that I am in over my head in regard to my human ability to come through. This fundraising campaign is really going to force me to rely on God to come through for me- and I am very much looking forward to seeing the ways He will do that. Whenever I look at my planner I keep trying to remind myself that God is bigger than my number, and that He will use this challenge for His glory.
