I find myself in my childhood home once again, nestled between the islands of the west and hills of the east
between mountain and sea we'll say
It is a place of new freedom, waiting to be reclaimed, waiting to be trodden with love.
This home has always held the privilege of providing rest and comfort through days of college transition, but now it holds new meaning, it is a place of building and strengthening ties as I engage in the journey ahead.
For the past three weeks I have been navigating this new season of fundraising; day and night talking in living rooms, park trails and coffee shops alike.
I am learning to share heart and vision to both strangers and loved ones.
Truth be told, it is awkward, hilarious, stretching, demanding- Daily answering questions, speaking truth, attempting to capture all that lies in wait.
But I am daily humbled by the hearts learning to cheer and hoping to hear of all that is ahead.
This season which was once was dreaded, I now see sprinkled with delight.
There is great bounty here, in this home caught between mountain and sea.
Though there have been days that leave me rattled and frustrated, consumed by the enormity of the task ahead, God has continuously used this season to embolden my heart.
Quite simply this time has been one of reuniting with a community that shaped and grew my younger self, entering into prayer, sharing hurt and hope of the heart.
To call it a challenge is an understatement, but to say it is all bad is the furthest from the truth.
It is a transition season, one which must not be overlooked or wished away, even in moments where direction is gone and encouragement is difficult to come by.
A dear friend of mine recently reminded me to celebrate the transition.
Every day, every moment holds reason to celebrate, and I must be open to finding it.
I am wrestling to not wish this season of support raising away, but to engage in the raw of the moment, to simply celebrate it.
Today how can I celebrate?
I hope to hold on to that for the two months still to come of this process.
May I walk here with new purpose, with new vision, seeking to celebrate alongside my Creator.
"Therefore just as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving" -Colossians 2:6-7
So walk in Him I will. May I continue to walk in the seismic, walk in the small. I can walk knowing I hold hands with Holy. I can walk knowing that this season is to be celebrated not tolerated. I can walk knowing that there is bounty and beauty found here.
