The First Month

Posted on Thursday, March 31, 2016

It's been a month! In the best of ways, I feel like that’s an impossibility. So much has happened; but I guess that’s the way it goes when moving to your new home involves crossing continents.

Overall impression from March: "stunned with gratitude". Great teammates and team leaders, fast housing set up, blessings as I start the harrowing adventure of language learning, and an overall smooth transition have blown away fears and expectations alike. It’s not always a flowery walk in the park (though we did have one of those), but this month has seen countless blessings and I’m so thankful!

Since arriving, I’d heard many stories of God moving, and have teared up while listening to testimonies. These beautiful stories of God's transforming power and loving pursuit of rebellious hearts is a well-placed and poignant reminder of why I am here. I recently bought a bracelet with a lion charm attached, and while listening to one such testimony thought, “Aslan is on the move.” Isn’t He ever.

Praise God for letting us play a part in it all, and please pray for eyes to see and ears to hear (for me as much as anyone else).
