I think that it’s very easy to get bogged down by the details of life.
The little stresses and the bumps in the road can become mountains without proper perspective. But gratitude is a powerful thing and a gift in itself. It gives us the birds-eye view, and it ends with us praising God. Support raising has had high and low points and I’m not done yet, but I want to take some time to look around, regain proper perspective, and praise God for what I see:
Praise God, because His glory is everlasting and His worth incomprehensibly great.
Praise God because creation, which is astoundingly majestic, is nothing compared to how brilliant He is.
Praise God because His love is crazy vast; deep space couldn’t hold His love.
Praise God the Son, Jesus Christ. He is perfect; He defeated death; He transformed this sinner into a beloved, redeemed child of God, and He’s coming again!
Praise God the Holy Spirit! He is ever present and directs my steps; He continues to open my eyes to God’s stunning nature and the beauty of the gospel.
Praise God for support raising; it’s hard but it’s beautiful. Praise Him for the encouragement I've received - the hearts that also break for those trafficked in London and those who see what God is doing and have joined in whatever way they can. Encouragement has been given throughout the summer and has filled my heart when I've been weary. Praise God for my family, friends, church, strangers who've become friends, and teachers who have come alongside me in different ways. The growth and relationships I’ve gained this summer are a blessing, and I am excited for the next steps!
I have about halfway to go for support raising. I am not where I had hoped to be at the start of this summer, but I am exactly where God has placed me. Instead of distressing over what I don’t know and can’t see, I am going to delight in the direction and knowledge I have been given. Which is a lot to delight in, when I think about it.
Philippians 4: 4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
