Feliz Navidad! We celebrated our 4th annual Beto's Christmas Party and had a great time together!Looking around the room we realized we were twice size from last year. Very thankful for the gift of growth and the opportunities God continues to provide for our team!
Interns-It's Summer Break in Nicaragua and 10 incredible students chose to give up their vacation to help our team in Masatepe. For their 2 month break, instead of sleeping in and relaxing these teenagers jumped at the opportunity to work for their community. During this internship the students have been learning everything from work ethic, having a servant's heart, and even personal finances. We are using their assistance in translating for mission trips, leading worship and youth services, marketing our businesses, working on the chicken farm, painting the rehabilitation center, and much more. We are honored that the work being done is drawing in young leaders who want to be a part of transformation in their own hometown.
People of Mars Hill-Nine members of the church, People of Mars Hills in Mobile, Alabama were here to learn about the people in our community, listen to God’s direction in their lives and fellowship with the Nicaraguan and American staff in Masatepe. The time was a blessing and encouragement for the Empowerment Team from Alabama, as well as for the Nicaraguan and American team. A bridge was built between these communities through home visits, meals, community interaction, and work on the newly acquired property for the future recovery center. A huge thank you is extended to The People of Mars Hill for coming alongside the work here in Masatepe; as God is working in your lives and church, you are blessing us!
Chicken for Christmas-Huge thanks to all who supported our Chicken for Christmas campaign over the past few weeks! The grand total came out to 378 chickens that were donated to Nicaraguan families this weekend for Christmas dinners!
Almost to the North Pole...As a team we were fortunate to take a weekend getaway to the northern part of Nicaragua. It was a refreshing couple of days to unplug, put on some long sleeves, and see another beautiful part of the country.
