My letter to future goers:
-Most of the time things probably aren't going to be very easy, but it will most definitely be worth it. Don't give up just because things get hard.
-Don't let fear stop you from stepping out of your comfort zone. Do the things that scare you, and if it doesnt work out, try again.
-Know how to laugh at yourself. You are probably going to make a lot of mistakes, in language, culture, and relationships. Do not take yourself too seriously, learn from it and try again.
-Get involved in community. If it's not already there, try to build it.
-Love people. Get to know them. Get to know their way of life and how they see and relate to things. Who knows, when you come back, a refugee family who you knew may be resettled to your State and you may get to take them sledding in the first snow they have ever seen!
