I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I have one brother who is five years younger than me, a mom, and a stepdad. My biological father passed away when I was 15 years old. I spent most of my childhood in the Portland-metropolitan area but I went to high school in southeastern Washington. I first felt the call to ministry when I was 10 years old and have seen that calling sharpened and clarified as I've gotten older. Also around the age of 10 I began to develop a heart for the world; this wasn't realized until college when I received a variety of opportunities to study abroad, go on mission trips, and go on ministry tours with my choir. As far as hobbies go I enjoy reading, writing, anything outdoorsy, running, music, singing, and exploring.
If you had told me four years ago that I would be moving to Thailand after graduating from college, I might have laughed at you. I first received the call to full-time, vocational ministry at the age of 10 and around the same time began to develop a heart for the world. It was not until college that my calling became more clear and I felt drawn towards para-church ministry. I was fortunate enough to have a wide variety of cross-cultural experiences while in college, including two study abroad trips in South Africa and Israel and a ministry tour with my choir in South Korea.
