As I headed off to meet my discipler (I was taking public transportation that day), I pulled out my new book praying the Bible into Your Life. My Mom, Betty Lou Who's Women's Bible Study sent me a care package that Justin hand carried here. Inside were many goodies: some for my tummy and some for my soul, including this book. That day I read both the quotes below and prayed: "THE LORD REPAY YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, AND A FULL REWARD BE GIVEN YOU BY THE LORD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, UNDER WHOSE WINGS YOU HAVE COME TO TAKE REFUGE." Ruth 2:12 Lord help me to fully learn what it means to take refuge in you. I want to stay close to you at all times and not be tempted away. Thank you for the reward you give to those who seek you.
“SPEAK, LORD, FOR YOUR SERVANT HEARS." 1 Samuel 3:9 Lord, help me to clearly hear your voice speaking to my heart. Enable me to silence the voices of distraction within me and around me so that I can better recognize your instructions to my soul.
God timing is perfect! You hear that all the time but it is something I need to remind myself of every day. It was a blessing to receive those words of encouragement. “God is my refuge and I should listen to His voice.” That is exactly what I have been processing and talking about with my discipler. It is the little things that can make a big difference.
