Where would I be without you.

Posted on Sunday, October 5, 2014

Every day at lunch a student (let's call him Andy) pulls out this little hand speaker. As I headed upstairs to grab my lunch, the music was loud enough for me to hear.  Is that Toby Mac I hear playing?  Andy and some of the girls are jamming out to Toby Mac’s song  “Where Would I Be Without You.”

They have created an entire dance routine to do as they sing along. I only know the chorus but they know every word!  Even if they don't fully grasp what Toby Mac is saying…they seem so joyful and happy...happy singing, happy being kids. They are enjoying life and having fun. This is very important for me to remember. Because when I hear these kids stories and realize why they are in an orphanage, it breaks my heart.

Jesus says “let the children come, for such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” These children have been taken from their homes, some have been beaten, and all have wounds that may never be fully healed.  Yet, they are happy to be in God's hands now.  My challenge to you this week is very simple… be happy in God's hands.
