Hello again everyone!
After a great summer of meeting with so many wonderful people, I am happy to say that I am at full support! I have been continually blown away by God’s faithfulness and by the generosity of so many fellow believers in Christ.
What a blessing it has been to have met and get to know so many amazing people who have listened, encouraged, supported, and prayed for me. I hope to one day be the encouragement and blessing to other people as all of you have been to me, and to be as generous as well.
If you have committed but have not yet given online or in the mail yet, now is the time! Here is the website with all of the info you need: www.efca.org/give
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED THIS SUMMER
I have definitely been learning the great sovereignty of God. You all must have been praying, because I went from about 70% to 90% percent of support in a little over a week! This was from quite a few supporters who committed a surprising amount all in that time. It was another great reminder that God is in total control and answers prayer.
I had an amazing training a few weeks ago in Minneapolis, MN with ReachGlobal. We learned a lot about culture, teamwork, strengths and personality, do’s and don’ts of missions, goals and visions, etc. It was a fantastic time getting to spend time with teammates and fellow missionaries.
I have also been learning about discipleship, the church, accountability, German culture, and German history. I just watched a movie on Martin Luther that was really great called “Luther.” His courage and boldness, as portrayed in the movie, were inspiring and also got me excited to learn more of Germany’s history and language. If I was to write about everything I have been learning this summer, it would be 80 pages long and none of you would read it all except maybe my parents.
THE NEXT STEPS
I have 19 days until the team and I depart for Berlin. There is a lot to do before then, including studying up on German, saying goodbye to friends and family, and preparing mentally and packing for the next two years. Our team is not purchasing plane tickets until we are all at 95% of support. We have been Skyping with some team members in Berlin, learning about what the first few weeks are going to look like and what to expect. We have several books to read and a lot of preparing to do!
HOW YOU CAN PRAY
1. Pray that my teammates would reach 100% of support soon! They have a bit to go, but nothing God can’t handle. Pray that they would reach this in the next two weeks.
2. Pray that God would be mentally and physically preparing us for what is ahead. Pray that we would stay close to Him and have the right expectations and mindset when we get there.
Thank you all so much! I can’t say that enough.
