Snow: A blanket of snow can create something dull and colorless into something magical. How it covers the buildings and falls on the trees makes everything appear serene. It has a refreshing presence as everything turns white and quiet. It has been hard living in a city that does not get much snow. I forgot how much snow has an impact on my life. It affects how I think about Christmastime, it affects how I think about driving, and it affects how I celebrate winter. It is hard to have snowball fights, make snow angels, and catch snowflakes on your tongue when it isn’t there.
Last week when I saw snow in Munich it also reminded me of the beauty a city can possess. Sometimes it is hard to see the beauty of a city when you are surrounded by concrete, tall buildings, and graffiti. However, each city has something beautiful about it that God placed there. I just need to find it and when I find it, rediscover it, and continue to remind myself that there is beauty in the city. Sometimes that beauty is the concrete, the tall buildings, and the graffiti. However, the most important thing to remember is God created it and the people in it and I need to see it with His eyes.
