Hey Family!
It’s hard to believe I have only been here, in South East Asia, for a week! Already I can feel this is where I am supposed to be. Each day has been filled with new experiences, faces, words, and small reassurances of the Father’s presence in my life. It amazes me how even though it has been 5 years since I first recognized the call to macaroni work the same feeling of peace and home resides in my spirit.
In case you have not heard from my mom I made it! I am here and so far it has been great! Here’s the scoop on what I have been doing thus far. My first few days here were quite restful. My team leaders, who I am temporarily staying with, allowed me to get over my jet lag which was so helpful. Once I got used to the time difference (after only 3 days!) we started my orientation.
Day 1 was an overview of what is expected of me. As we talked about these things I realized all of expectations are items I have either been praying about or have experienced because of my Global Studies major - thanks Grace :)
Day 2 I went exploring in the city with two members from my team. They showed me the public transportation system and took me to some of the major shopping establishments where I can purchase pretty much anything I need. I also scheduled my class time at the language center.
Day 3 I traveled with my mentor to meet with a new sister. It was so encouraging to hear her testimony. Upon leaving her place I really felt the Father’s love and yearning for the people here.
More than anything, my favorite part about this team is knowing we are all in one accord. Although we come from different parts of the world our we are united by a common goal. Also, there is an understanding that we have all been uniquely created and in our individuality have a specific role to play during our time here. Accepting this, we are able to encourage each other in our strengths and hold each other up in our weaknesses. So for those of you who might have had some reservations about my assignment here please rest assured I am well taken care of and I will be okay
As always thank you all so much for everything you have done to get me here. I never take your prayers for granted and your words of wisdom and encouragement are close to my heart.

There were no issues with my flights allowing me to arrive here safely and on time.
The same feeling of peace I felt in Haiti 5 years ago, that caused me to realize the call, is here in this place.
The first step for my residence visa went through smoothly.

Soon I will be moving in with a host family. Please pray for divine conversations and for the Father’s love to shine through my actions and speech more than anything.
Monday I will start my classes at the language school. Please pray for clarity of the language and grace in my studies.
