It is time!

Posted on Thursday, March 26, 2015

Well friends, it’s been a long road to get to where I am today, but I can finally say I have a departure date and it is coming quicker than I blink.

The task of support raising, for me, did not go as planned. The original 10 week goal has turned into 10 months of unexpected growth, relationship building, and preparation for the journey that lies ahead of me.

You want to know some ways I’ve grown? Well, for one thing, I now have a deeper understanding of what it means to trust God’s timing. This is an aspect of faith a lot of people don’t like to learn. It requires going against our natural human instinct to attain immediate results by any means possible. Through this process I’ve had to silence that desire quickly acquire what I want and awaken the part of me that seeks to embrace every aspect of the process.

Another area of growth has been in my confidence. Have you ever known with everything in your being that you were called to do something? The feeling is incomparable, indescribable even, yet you are behooved to carry out your calling and see it flourish regardless of what the nay sayers say. That is how I feel about serving overseas. Many people have asked me why South East Asia, and why now, and why would I want to go among a people who probably do not want to hear what I have to say? My answer to them is, “This is what I was created to do. While you ask me ‘Why?’ I’m saying, ‘What else would I be doing?’”

I am beyond excited for the Lord is getting ready to do in my life. This has been a long anticipated voyage, and now that it’s finally here there are more I know I am ready because I have been well equipped for a job that only I can do.
