We've moved into our apartment and this is the view from our balcony. It's a wonderful little place that we can finally call home for our two years. Even in the midst of being in a different country, speaking a different language, going to markets almost everyday or playing frogger just to cross the street there are also similarities. Everyone needs food, needs air to breathe and a place to sleep. But more than that, amongst my travels I love seeing how God is the same everywhere you go. He is creator of the beautiful universe and wants to have a relationship with every one of his creations.
A couple Sundays ago our team went to a local church to find out that they were doing something different for their service. So we went back and had our own fellowship. While we were studying Philippians 2, I was reminded of the intimacy of the Lord and how He desires to have constancy intimacy with us and within our times of fellowship. I can’t really explain the immense joy and peace that I feel as the Holy Spirit is present in our midst. It’s completely satisfying and yet I long for more and more. I desperately hope that you know what I’m talking about. It’s the nature of our Lord and Savior, always there and available at any moment. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I pray that you’ll ask the Lord to come meet you where you are and surround you with His presence. I think one of my favorite parts is that it’s everywhere that you go. Spending time with the Lord doesn’t happen just in South Asia, or just in Iowa. It’s literally everywhere, our God is omnipresent and knows exactly when we need Him at any moment of the day. Whether cultures are alike or different, this fact is the same all over the Earth.
