Your story can help inspire the next class of Goers!
Introducing the 2024 GoCorps Writing Contest!
There’s a good chance that someone else’s story helped you become a Goer. Maybe it was a missionary who spoke at your church when you were growing up. Maybe it was a mentor who poured into you. At the very least we can all name a few bible stories that played a big part in our journey. Stories are hugely important. That’s one reason Jesus used so many of them.
We loved seeing your photos from the GoCorps Photo Contest and they inspired the launch of the GoCorps Writing Contest! This is your chance to showcase your storytelling skills and inspire others to join the Tithe Your Career movement. Plus, we will be giving a $75 gift card to the winner in each of the four categories!

With four exciting categories, there's a place for everyone to participate:
1. God at Work in my Community
Share your experiences of how you have witnessed God's powerful work in your local community. From transformative acts of service to inspiring stories of change, let your words capture the essence of how God is making a difference.
(about 500 - 1,200 words)
2. God at Work in Me
What I'm Learning, How I'm Growing, How I've Changed: Reflect on your journey and growth through your placement or training. This category invites you to delve into the lessons you've learned, the challenges you've overcome, and the transformative impact your experience has had on your own life.
(about 500 - 1,200 words)
3. Cultural Experience
Take us on a captivating journey as you explore and engage with new cultures during your placement. Was there a funny story from your language learning process? Maybe a time you had to pause and reflect on your own culture? A way you saw God’s character displayed in a new way because of a cultural difference?
(about 500 - 1,200 words)
4. Open Category
Poetry, Fiction, Anything Else! Let your imagination run wild and submit your most creative pieces in this open category. Express your thoughts and emotions through poetry, transport us to fictional worlds with your short stories, or surprise us with any other form of written expression. The possibilities are endless!
(any length)
Ethical Storytelling
When telling stories, it’s important to practice ethical storytelling tips. If we’re not careful, we can unintentionally paint an unhealthy picture through the language we use or the posture from which we tell the story. Follow these simple guidelines to help you tell stories that honor your host culture, your friends, and the Lord.
