University Ministry/EFL Teacher

The population of this country in sub-Saharan West Africa, is 95% Muslim with only a handful of Christ-followers. Its capital city is a hub for business, higher education, government agencies and NGOs. Over 60% of the population is under 25 years of age and the local universities draw young people from all over francophone Africa, opening a unique door for university outreach. Our ministry goal, by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, is to make disciples among Muslim university students and to encourage them to form themselves into simple churches that replicate. Our objectives to accomplish this are summarized as follows: 1. Provide a welcoming and professional language learning community where university students can progress in English oral communication; 2. For team members to invest in building genuine relationships with students through which they can share the gospel; 3. To organize events where the biblical claims of Jesus can be explored and evaluated together; 4. To support students in their journey of exploring the biblical claims of Jesus and what it means to be a genuine disciple of Jesus. In order to expand our reach, deepen our relationships and raise the level of the service we offer (English), we are looking for qualified, passionate, committed staff that can help us accomplish these objectives.

Experience, training, or certification in the area of teaching English (ESL/EFL) is helpful, but not required, Ability to develop and follow a lesson plan as well as the ability to speak in front of groups of 10 to 20 students, Friendly and good interpersonal skills are important in building relationships and connecting outside of class time.
