Construction Project Developer for Community Ministries

Our team lives and works in the heart of Brussels, the home of the European Union and NATO, and the crossroads of a rich diversity of people from all over Europe and the world. From refugees to politicians, there is a wealth of opportunity for relationships that impact lives for the sake of the Kingdom.

Only a half of a percent of indigenous Belgians, Walloons and Flemings, are believers. When considering the total population that number doubles, but that is only a mere one percent of the 11 million people that call Belgium home! In this setting our goal is to develop a dynamic team of next-generation missionaries with a calling to urban ministry and facilitating the multiplication of the church. Our vision is to see a wellspring movement of neighbors building spirit filled relationships, transforming their lives and revitalizing their neighborhoods.

So often, ministry is tied to place. That place may be a church, but it can also be a corner cafe, or a transitional housing ministry for refugees. Our mission is to help develop unique venues - gathering places where faith, community and mission intersect with ideas, dialogue and action. Places to mend, strengthen, equip and empower the human spirit of a neighborhood, a community and even the city itself!

In Brussels, we have many partners within the local church and faith-based organizations who share this vision, but often lack the resources and the practical skills to see their vision developed. Goers in this position will have the opportunity to experience mission by aiding and guiding these partners through their building and renovation projects, gaining valuable experience in the area of community development and neighborhood revitalization while also developing their skills in the construction trades, engineering and project management.

In this placement, we believe the ideal candidates will possibly possess experience in the field of building construction and/or education or training in related areas: construction trades, civil engineering, project management or architecture. Additionally, candidates should be detail oriented, yet flexible; have a willingness to learn; be willing to work in a multitude of various conditions; have a great spatial awareness and enjoy building friendships over a great cup of joe.
