Moldova, a small country between Ukraine and Romania, gained independence from the USSR in 1991. As a developing democracy, it's navigating post-Soviet challenges while maintaining religious freedom. The official language is Romanian, though Russian is still widely spoken.

Christianity, primarily Orthodox, is prevalent in Moldova. While many students identify as Christians, regular church attendance is low, and understanding of the gospel is often limited. However, the church is growing, and there's relative freedom to share the gospel compared to other former Soviet countries.

Moldova's education system is robust, with 46 colleges and high schools serving 32,000 pupils, and 33 higher education institutions enrolling 60,000 Moldovan and 1,000 international students. This diverse student population presents significant opportunities for spiritual outreach and engagement.

The Community of Christian Students from Moldova (CSC Moldova) is a growing student ministry in the two largest cities in Moldova – Chisinau, and Balti. Through social engagement, clubs, regular small groups, evangelization camps, and discipleship conferences, CSC engages Christian and non-Christian students with the claims of Christ.

CSC Moldova is made up of several local city groups. The students in these groups come from all possible fields of studies and educational institutions, such as universities, universities of applied sciences, academics, and others. The groups are led by students trained and supervised by staff (staff) or volunteer group leaders.
