Trusting the Process
To Whom it May Concern, Hello! My name is Matt. Once upon a time I just learned about GoCorps and started looking at these blogs. Maybe you’re my best friend ever or a random semi-skeptical college guy like I was checking if GoCorps is legit. Well, the quick answer is…it is. The team is awesome and they care more about each person they meet greater than you could ever envision. Before I give details on where I am going, what I am doing, and why I feel God wants me there I am going to do my best to paint a brief picture of myself. My full name is Matthew McCann. I was a last minute mom and dad... Read more

Sacrifice
Sacrifice. It’s a word I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. Ten months ago, when I left home and moved to Peru, I didn’t think I was sacrificing that much. I knew I would be leaving my home. But I saw the next two years of my life as a grand adventure, a reckless pursuit of God’s plan for my life. To say I was excited to move to another country, to live in the jungle, to experience something... Read more

I moved to the jungle last month and it’s been like a whole new world here. I’ve had to learn all over again how to do life here in Perú. I thought I would give you a little look into life in the jungle and my ministry. SO, here is a list of the things I have experienced since moving to San Ramon. “What things?” This is the question risen Jesus asked two of his disciples as they were walking along the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35) after a heavy three days of grieving the loss of Jesus, their teacher, their hope for redemption, their go-to for all of their questions. The disciples, appalled that he doesn’t know what just happened recount all they’ve experienced. And Jesus walks with them and listens to all of it, then opens their eyes to truths of Scripture all while they continue to listen but still not understand who is really speaking to them. During our annual spiritual retreat,... Read more
