Going...Going...Almost Gone
So I guess now that I've told you all about my support raising, I should explain where I'm going...and what I'll be doing. In less than two weeks, I will be moving to North Africa. My team leaders there own a language and culture business. I will be joining them to teach English in their afterschool program for local kids. I will also be learning the local dialect of Arabic through this business. I am really excited about both of these opportunities and the relationships that I will develop through them. In addition to the couple that's there (and their kids), I will also have another... Read moreSupport Raising, Faithfulness, and Courage
Support raising...what a journey it has been! Four months ago, I had no idea what to expect. I knew God had called me to go. I knew I was where He wanted me. And I knew He would provide. However, I didn't know what that would look like. I didn't know whether I would enjoy the process. I viewed it as a hurdle to jump, just another step in the process. There was a father who’s after meal chore was to wash the dishes. Whenever he washed the dishes, his 2 year old daughter... Read more
Run the Race
“. . . let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” Heb 12:1 Over this past week, this verse has taken on a whole new meaning for me. Throughout my life, God has blessed me with the ability to accomplish tasks and learn new concepts quickly. I say this, not to brag, but to give background for this post. At the beginning of this support raising process, I prayed that I would be able to complete it in five weeks, but here at the end of week four, I am starting to pray a different prayer. This is not because I do not believe that God cannot raise up the funds that I need in the... Read moreEmbarking on this new season
This blog post is an introduction to my life and the adventures that I will embark on in these next two years. This first blog post comes on the brink, as I’m about to jump into my time with GoCorps and serving with my sending organization. Summer is coming with a lot of excitement, as I’ll be hoping to meet with supporters, build connections, and really gain a team that I can share these next two years with. As GoWeek and my summer campaign training comes to a close I am truly excited for this next season of life, and my adventures in East Africa. I hope you can follow along with me... Read more
