As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, GoCorps leadership and staff are actively evaluating and responding. As our nation and world’s response develop and change, so will our response. Please check back for updates.
Applications, the June 1 Application Deadline and 2020 Goers
The Winter 2020 Application is still open and will continue to be available until our original June 1st application deadline. Our staff are working from home, processing applications and are available by phone and video conference. If you’d like to apply to be a Goer, submit an application here. Potential applicants can also still fill out an interest form to talk to a coach.
For those who have already been accepted to our 2020 program, we are coordinating with our teams and organizational partners regarding any adjustments that need to be made to training, fundraising, and launching timelines. We are continuing our mission as an organization to “help you get from here to there!” and are holistically evaluating many factors to assure you are equipped, supported, and sent in the best way possible. Your coach will follow up with you directly with decisions that are made that affect your timeline or placement, and you are welcome to reach out to your coach with any thoughts or questions. We are encouraged by your commitment to join in God’s global work and we are with you and for you in this season of unknown!
Our Goers on the Field
There are currently 56 Goers who are serving their two year commitment. These Goers are being led well by our organizational partners and their team leaders, and decisions are being made on a location-by- location and a case-by-case basis. Our “boots on the ground” team leaders and our organizational leadership are doing an amazing job making sure that all of our Goers are taken care of and receive the support they need, whether they have returned home for this season or have stayed in country.
We as a staff team recognize that we are in a unique season - where the body of Christ can shine a light in the darkness like no other! Each morning, we are beginning our days with an hour of corporate prayer as well as individual prayer, worship, and reflection as we seek to steward this time well. In addition to continuing to serve in our roles with GoCorps, we are also making intentional space in our daily lives to be present with our families, churches, friends, and those in need in our community. We are committed to trusting God, loving our neighbor, and extending grace to one another as we navigate these uncharted waters together.
We thank you for your prayers and support in this historic time. We will continue to fix our eyes on Jesus, his unshakeable purpose, and his peace that is promised to surpass our circumstances or understanding.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” -2 Corinthians 4:16-18
