GoCorps Orientation Week

GoCorps Orientation (GO) Week is your first step as an official GoCorps 2012 goer. During GO Week, you’ll get to meet the other goers from across the country, learn more about the ministry and the location that you’ll be working in and we’ll equip you with a solid foundation in fundraising and raising a base of supporters who will pray and support you during the next two years. But most importantly, we’ll spend time pursuing God’s heart and continue the work of prayer and preparation for being a message bearer to the least reached.
Objectives
- Corporate worship and prayer – United prayer and worship time with the rest of the GoCorps teams and partnering organizations.
- Team and Track Time – You'll have time each day for fellowship and location-specific training with your team and with a rep from your sending organization.
- Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) Training – 15 hours of fund raising training to lay a foundation for success in rapidly recruiting a prayer and funding team.
- Core teachings on cross-cultural missions and spiritual formation – Are you ready to do whatever it takes? What to expect and how to prepare for ministry among the least reached.
Arrival and Departure Info
Book your flight to fly in and out of the Los Angeles airport (airport code: LAX). You should arrive by 3:30pm on Monday, May 21 and leave anytime after 10am on Friday, May 25. Please email your flight itinerary to info@gocorps.org. If you are driving to GO Week, please email us at info@gocorps.org. The address of GO Week is: 901 E. Alosta Ave., Azusa, CA 91702 (this is the campus of Azusa Pacific University).
Packing List
- Casual clothes (make sure you bring sweatshirt/light jacket for evenings)
- Clothes/shoes for active team building exercises
- Swimsuit (may be needed for team building exercises)
- Bible/pen
- Proof of eligibility for employment in the US (passport or social security card) if required by your org
- Flashlight/headlamp
Bedding and towels are provided - no need to pack these!
Payment Information
Your spot at the GoCorps Orientation Week will be reserved when you fill out the GO Week Info Form and submit your deposit of $100 either through paypal or by check (payable to GoCorps). Please make your own travel arrangements to GO Week. If you’d like to be reimbursed out of your support account at the end of the summer when you have your full support in, please save and submit your receipts for your flight and for your GoCorps Orientation Week registration to your GoCorps partnering sending organization.
